All About Me!

Hello all! Meet Me!
I'm a new student at (a certain school). I like this school because it is at walking distance from my home and I have made many friends. My little brother goes here for kindergarten. I am sure I will enjoy this year at this school.

I love doing maths and reading books on human biology. What I wouldn't be reluctant to do is...
read books. My latest hobby which I find pretty amusing is planning and designing homes. If we ever gets to look at homes, I'm there. Or if we are going to a hotel I'm always wanting to see the hotel structure.

Here are some other hobbies I have. In music, I'm fond of both Indian Classical Music and Western style music. I love biking when we ride somewhere where there are a lot of slopes. Table Tennis helps improve my coordination skills and it's a great exercise. Swimming is splendid because you can splash around in the water. Some musical instruments I love to play are violin and piano. Last but not least, I love drawing.

My goal is to get good grades. Only then I will succeed. I'm working towards fulfilling my goal in becoming a doctor or civil engineer. I also hope that this upcoming year will be memorable and a great experience. Thank You!

SCHOOL IS OVER for this year of 2010! Now I get to sit back, relax, and enjoy my vacation for about 13.5 more days. I'm free from work! How about around the world? Is there any other country that has no school right now other than the US? I'm not sure. Oh, and thanks all blog viewers! I appreciate the fact that there are people viewing my things.

UGGGH!!!

Yesterday night, I didn't feel like dealing with our printer, so I had to write the whole thing. By the time I  was done, my fingers were hurting so much. Also, yesterday I made a card for a teacher in my brother's day-care, since that teacher's last day was today. We also have a science test. I hope I do good. Need to understand the last lesson a little more, and understand the carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen cycles.

Thursday, December 16, 2010

To me, we are going to Hawaii one week from now. Since, if you have an early flight, you have to leave early from the house than you would usually. When we wake up in the super, early morning it feels like it is still Thursday night. That is why. You know what else? I finished all my Writer's Workshop! Just need to make sure today night, that they are all ready. I'm so excited! This Friday will be the best. Free from projects for a week. Need to study for the science test coming up on Friday. In science camp we are only guaranteed one of the people that we chose out of the three. The other 2 we might get or we might not. The most craziest thing though is that people like me and my friends must be dying to know who will be in their cabins once they get to school, but, they can only tell once we get there.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Guess what? I'm done with everything except that Writer's Workshop thing. I will be as I said before, be working on finishing the final draft today. Even though, they are only due on Friday, I want one night to go over them and see if they are ok. Also, yesterday, there was alot of excitement in only the 6th grade classrooms since we got the slips for who we want in our cabins. My friends already gave us the slip of paper that had who we had to choose. But, the bad thing was, we had to choose 3 people. So, we agreed to pick the people we first wrote down the names of plus our "Bunk Buddies." What else? Winter Break is coming closer. So, that means Hawaii and Science Camp are coming closer and closer. I don't know if any of you have felt this, but when you don't have anything exciting coming up one of the weeks, your days fly past you. But when trips and everything are planned, about one week from a day, you want the days to go fast but they go slower than usual. The funny thing about me is that the day before our trip, I have a simple case of insomnia. I have my eyes wide open the whole night in my bed and the night seems super long. It is only 5 minutes before I am woken up that I sleep. It's crazy funny!

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Yesterday, I got to finish my archaeological list for my Writer's Workshop and three paragraphs. It is only my rough draft though. I will probably finish the final on Wednesday. At school, we are all getting jitters about Science Camp and Winter Break Vacation. One of my friends is going to Florida another is going to Lake Tahoe and yet another is going to Las Vegas. I am going to Hawaii. The funny thing is the person going to Florida, is leaving on the 23rd, I am leaving on the 24th and my friend is going to Lake Tahoe on the 25th. There is also alot of talk going on about packing for Science Camp. But sadly, some people that are allowed to go, have not turned in their permission slip in or their medical form. Today will be the last day for them to do that. Last week, we had our math assessment  from the district and this week we started on our Language Arts assessment. So, I guess the last week they make everything due and if you think you want to be free from it, wait until Winter Break!

Monday, December 13, 2010

I don't have to do my Math Project anymore. But, I have alot to do in this week. Important dates:

  • Wednesday:Math Project Due
  • Thursday: Free day: work on anything (depending on if she gives us a whole new load)
  • Friday: Writer's Workshop due (all), Early Release, Off for Winter Break, Science Test
Plus, I need to study for the Spelling Bee after New Year's and I go to singing class and need to memorize some theory. Bye....

Thursday, December 9, 2010

I finished a few things that were due today and my list is much smaller. I have to do a math project, one last Writer's Workshop item, and study for a spelling bee. In the middle of all this, we probably will get an essay. I'm going to work hard these weeks. For me it will be for these two weeks, work, work, work, work, work, work, work, and work. Also, book-lovers (that have to be 9 or older. Unless your parents allow you to read this book.) The book I am reading right now is da best to me. It  is called My Crazy Summer. It is roughly about 3 girls, Fern, Vonetta, and Delphine that are sent away to their weird mother who had abandoned them. It also talks about the "Black Panther Movement" that happened in the 1900 or the 2Oth century. This book is by Rita Williams-Garcia...

When I said medical, I didn't really mean medical, but just the biology section. Now, you know what is more exciting than ever............. the teacher gave us even more work. We have many projects, essays, and everyday homework. Plus, we have some art stuff to do. So, it is not going to be that relaxing until Winter Break starts. If you see it the positive way, next week is our last week. If you see it the negative way though, we have tons of projects, essays, and home work due these two weeks. It is going to be tough than ever. As if that isn't enough, the District is giving us tests on Math and English this week. At least,we don't get homework on these days usually. So, I will just work on everything I can get my hands on...

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

My friends I believed were the best ones I had yet. They didn't care much what other people thought about them. They just let out the invisible person inside them. In January, all 6th grade will be going to Science Camp as I said before in my previous story and we were all excited. We only had probably a week until Winter Break started also. As we approached our homerooms in the morning, we talked. Then we would toodle-oo to them. Some of us had a friend with them in the same class. With me, was our group leader (kind of). She is not always the nicest to be with when our school triplets are there and she mostly spends time at class with the one we have in our class other than me trading essays with her and one time in PE...

My Journal

UC Berkeley. There it was. Shining in the distance. A girl with many hopes could get there. She would definitely need to do hard work. The sound of her alarm jerked her up. When she got down from her bed, school things were circling around her head. Projects, homework, grades... She was part of the GATE program and she had to get her grades above a B level. She had short black hair that reached a little below her chin, a regular-sized nose with a circle-shaped face and was short for her age. This girl is me. I tried remembering my dream as I brushed my teeth. I was only in elementary still. Only in 6th grade. About still 7 years away from College. But already had found a college to my liking. I was going to work hard to get my prize. I am planning to be a doctor and I have already seen the inside of the college. For now, though, I had to think all about 6th grade and what I had to achieve still. I came into the kitchen had a cup of milk and got ready for school. As I entered the school, I felt uncomfortable, as if everybody was staring at me. When I reached my friends, they were talking about random things. I did have 3 real friends out of the 7 though. I was the one who got praised for singing. The other person who once was the famous one for singing is pretty jealous of me now and I don't know when she's going to burst her bubble. Other than that though, they are a pretty good group...

Spelling Bee

I'm a bit calmed down today. But, I won the School Spelling Bee. So, next, I'm going to participate in the School District Spelling Bee and will be representing my school with another boy that also won the School Spelling Bee. Whenever I spelled a word right, I heard people moaning. Especially, if their friend had lost before. The great thing that happened though, is that I was able to prove them wrong. When I got down from the stage, everybody in my class hugged me and hi-fived me. Some other people that I didn't know congratulated me too. When school was over, one of my friends who had studied way more than me, was crying because she didn't win. So, my friends and I went to console her. Bye! I have a dream... to go up to the Nationals. (Dream on and Reach for the Stars always.)

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

All these posts have been a success. But, I know a story that will be in better writing than my previous ones. I did not have that good of an Attention Grabber. So, one last story will satisfy me.
Of course, I already gave it away, but, the man I met on my way was the man who always was flashing that light. When I saw the man one day, I asked, "Why would a poor man have a flashlight?" I then pointed to something peeking out of his pocket. The next day was school and I told my friends two simple words. Mystery Solved. At this, they all looked puzzled. So, I told them I found the person behind the light. He is a fraud. My friends were so happy. This time when we we swung on the bars, we knew we had had a great time so far. When the bell rang, we happily ran up to our classes knowing that we could achieve something........!

THE END!

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

I sure didn't feel chirpy-cheery and I told myself that I would let it go for one more day and get some nice rest. But it didn't wait for me. Instead, it came straight to me. As I was walking towards singing class, a man asked me for a dollar coin. For a second, I looked around to make sure I wasn't in San Francisco. Then I said, "Beggars here? That too, being greedy. If I'm right, there is a saying,"The needy aren't greedy." I first walked away, but saw him follow me. So, I ran to class...

Monday, November 29, 2010

You thought it was the end didn't you? Well, it's not. What was that light, really? I didn't want to find out that night. I was too tired, I slept right at 3:00. Then we have a rule that you are not allowed to lay down from 6:00 to 7:00. At 7:00 I ate and went back to sleep. ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzzzzzz
At 12:00 I woke up with a sudden start, only to find out that I was dreaming. I right away went back to sleep and the next morning, I didn't feel really chirpy cheery...

Showtime!

After we came back from our day, and ate dinner. I didn't feel so good that we were going to perform in front of all the 6th graders (other than us) and probably some other adults that were staff of the Science Camp. But, I was even more nervous, when they called our group up first. I tried my best to not stammer my words. Thankfully, I didn't, and if I'm right, I think everybody else did a pretty good job. Our stage play was a success. I even saw people who wouldn't even care clap for us, until I later on found out they were forced to clap for everyone and would get a write-up for every time they didn't listen to the ruls that are instructed. So, I made sure I followed every instruction they gave out. Then later on, once everybody slept, I went on thinking about leaving Science Camp. Science Camp was really fun that I wish I could've stayed the rest of my school year.  The next morning, when we were about to leave, I cried silently. Then, as we got onto the bus and took off, I had to think about other exciting things in my future...

Weird Things

What I remembered was that flashing light my friends and I had seen that day before science camp. But instead of thinking a pleasant thought about it, a creepy haggard old man was holding the flashlight and flashing the light into only my house. I got so freaked out when I woke up and it turned out to only be daytime. Why had my dream been so short? When I woke up, and walked with my friends to the bathroom, I told them about it. And we all said at the same time, "Remember the first day at science camp?" We shuddered at the thought of it. Did we really have to conquer our fears and step out of the house one night and discover what that light was? We were so sad that we had to leave Science Camp tomorrow. And, everybody was not excited about performing the play tonight except, our (captain). But, we got away from our thoughts for that whole day....

The Pacific Ocean

Today we were going to the Pacific Ocean and my friends and I were pretty excited. Although, we couldn't swim in it of course. (Someone just asked that random question. Duh! It'll be Winter!) But, we were allowed to touch  the water with our hands or our feet. Then we looked for some tiny sea creatures. We also got to see whirlpools. When we returned from the beach (which is 10 mi away from our camp), we did our regular schedule things as I have on my post titled, "Science Camp" (not "Science Camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"). Then we bathed  and came to the Dinner Hall for dinner. When we settled back into our cabins, our counsellor (yeah, I know, we have to have a counsellor) and all of us rehearsed our skit that we were to perform the last night we were at Science Camp (which was tomorrow night). Then, as we got ready to rest for our big day tomorrow, I remembered something I would've never wanted to remember at this time...

Redwoods

If you'd be interested in where the science camp is located it is located in Loma Mar, Calif. It is one of the places in California where alot of Redwood trees are located. Other places include Santa Cruz, Calif.,Humboldt, Calif., Big Sur Calif. etc. The state tree for California is "The Redwood." Better known as the California Redwood. Anyway, the first place I mentioned, (Loma Mar), is as I said my science camp location. In Santa Cruz, Calif, almost everyone knows only about the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.  But there is also a redwood forest there on a hill or mountain (I'm Not Sure). Ok, bye!

Spelling Bee

Yesterday, we had a class spelling bee. In that, the Top 3 of our class would go to the school spelling bee. The Top 2 from Mission Valley will represent us in the Fremont Unified School District Spelling Bee. Whoever wins can go even farther than that. They can go up to the state spelling bee. Then once you win that, you can go to the Nationals (United States.) I don't know how far I will go, but I will try to reach up to the Unified School District Spelling Bee. So as you can tell from what I just said, "I was one of the top 3."
Ok, thank you! I will be studying for the School Spelling Bee which is Dec. 2. (Haven't found out if some of my friends are in the school spelling bee yet.)

Science Camp

Now that I am well-informed about Science Camp, I'm going to tell you about it. First of all, payment! It is (oh my god) expensive. Depending on how much money you earned for the Innisbrook thing. If you did not earn anything, you have to give a total of $334. The next thing is getting there. I don't know if I'll be awake or not when we reach the place, because it is a 2-hour drive! Our daily schedule is going to be this at camp:
  • Wake up at 7:00 a.m.
  • Get ready and go outside (no taking bath yet)
  • First day will be hiking, another day will be in the woods, one day at the Pacific Ocean and I don't know about the fourth day. Eat lunch.
  • When we come back, take a bath and then play with friends from other cabins
  • Have dinner
  • Have activity time
  • Night time fun (seeing the stars and the moon)
  • Get to our cabins and practice the skit we will be performing on Thursday night.
  • Sleep at 9:30 or how late you want to sleep, but the lights will be off at 9:30
  • Repeat the 8 steps once again.
This is what we all will be doing.

Science Camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to cut away from the story, but I have a few exciting things coming up that I want to tell you about. First is, tomorrow a lady from science camp is going to come to our school and tell us about science camp and what we will be doing there. Then, next, my family and I are going to go to Hawaii. After Winter Break is done, we're back to school for a week and then we will be going to science camp the very next week! The sad thing though is that there is kind of a lot of work to be turned in before Winter Break, which I need to worry about first. Ok, anyway, bye! Happy Thanksgiving! Next week is Thanksgiving!

What Happened?!

What Happened? Well, somehow, my friend had zapped her dream into my dream. When I woke up, I told my friend, "You were dreaming about a beach, weren't you?" Then, she said, "What are you saying?" Then she started to laugh. "Oh, whatever,"I said. We woke up all the others and got ready, then, we set off. When I came out everybody started laughing. To make sure, I checked if my fly was open, or if anything was out of order. When I saw that there was nothing, and I looked puzzled, everyone pointed to my shirt. It read,"I'm funny. Now laugh!" and it had by chance a crazy-looking monkey. Then I said, "What's so funny about it?" One of them blurted out in between huge attacks of laughing, "Your wish, is my command." I didn't really get it so I just stayed in the back along with my friends. Continued...

This Time We Are Sure That There Is "Stranger Danger" (TTWASTTISD)

While we were going on our "science camp" which is basically teaching us about botany, we heard a rustle. First we were scared, but noticed it was nothing but a fawn. We decided we should not care about any rustling going on but just enjoy what our guide was teaching. We trudged through the forest and only had two breaks. A lunch break and a snack break. At the end of the day, we collapsed onto our beds. Since we slept kind of early, we woke up in the middle of the night."Uh, guys?"I said. "Yeah. What?" "I see a creepy face looking at us." Sure enough, there was a creepy face. As they all turned around to see it, it came even closer. They got freaked out and decided to try to sleep. But, I didn't approve of it. Can't we just see what it is and put an end to it so it doesn't bother us anymore? I was lost in thought when I felt the sun beating up on me. I woke up, and it was lonely. But then, I saw my friends running to me. Were we in a different world? Continued...

Nature's Beauties

The next day was a pretty good day to our relief. We got to see nature's beauties. All that was bothering us was the feeling of winter-freezing. It was as if we were freezing and thawing. When we went outside we would freeze and when we went inside, we would be thawing. Believe it or not, I actually heard ice thawing when we were inside.
Narrator: Ok, now we will break away from the story for today. Here are a few exciting things that are going to happen to Mystery Girl:
Nov. 2: Start ballroom helping
Nov. 4: Field Trip to SJTM (San Jose Tech Museum)
Winter Break: Trip to somewhere (won't tell you)

Jan. 10-14: My actual Science Camp trip (only for 6th graders)

Stranger Danger?!!!!!!!!!!!

That night, all the girls felt uneasy in their beds. They had a weird feeling that something bad was going to happen to them. THhen one of them had the gut enough to say,"Hey, guys.....I don't feel so good." "Me neither," said the rest of them. "Do you think we should stay awake?"one of them asked. "Ok." They huddled together once the lights were turned on. After a while, as expected, someone came knocking at the door. They were so scared that they bundled up some more. Then they heard a tired, familiar, voice it was our teacher. But they weren't so sure so they stayed bundled up and opened the door. Our teacher had come to tell them that they should turn off the lights. "But, we're scared." "I know, I know." said, the teacher. "No, you don't!" shouted one of the girls. "Yesterday night, I saw a flashing light right outside of my window exactly focused on me!" "I'm sorry I can't help you. I ought to get back to bed." Then, the girls were once again left in the darkness. They huddled together and the first one to wake up which was me found that everyone was drooling on each other. "Eew!" I shrieked. Continued...

Science Camp!

As they reached school, they noticed many buses standing to take in how many students it could. When they entered class, their teachers each were telling them about science camp and being careful about things they should and blah... blah... blah. Then they exited their classrooms and got in line until the teacher would call their name and they would enter the bus. Once they made sure everyone was in the bus and out of the classrooms, (other than the study hall people) they took off. The
Spectacular Seven were really excited they had brought along things to entertain them as the ride was pretty long. By the time they reached, only one of the Spectacular Seven were awake. She woke the rest of them up and they headed towards Science Camp!

Downfalls?

Girl 1(Captain): pretty clothes and cute things
Girl 2: pretty clothes and hanging out with friends
Girl 3: loves being funny and can separate from the group and go with Girl 2.
Girl 4: The (captain's) favorite and a very shy talking girl

Girl 5: really smart girl who won a "Math Olympiad" contest
Girl 6: lives close by my house
Girl 7: Me!
All the girls said, "We are never going to do that!" So, they continued to go to school and swing on bars. Then, on January 9th, (the night before science camp,) one of the girls saw a flashing light as if to be saying, "Come, Come!" That girl went to sleep and tried to ignore it her best. The next day, which was practically science camp, she told all the girls. They all said in unison, "Let's find out when we come back from Science Camp!" Continued...

The Spectacular Seven (I'm in it) Preface

The Spectacular Seven had nothing to do but swing on bars. They needed something adventurous. One night, one of the girls, stepped out into the dark night and called the rest of the group. "Let's meet on the street I live in. You know where right?" That night, right at 11:00 p.m. she saw six faces coming towards her. To make sure they were all here and weren't people in disguises she called out their names and pinched their faces in every possible place there was that a chance the mask was on. Then she told them, "I've decided of a very risky plan at this time of night. But, we'll have to do it. No matter what." So, there they were a few minutes later staring up at their next year school. They really did not know what their plan was anyway and so did the girl who said she had a plan. Soon, it became 3:00 and all of them rushed home. The next day at school, one of the girls said, "I'm noot doing this night thing anymore. One of the girls said, "Don't worry!" "Our 'captain' said we should try to convince our parents to let us go to each other's house and do our homework with them and also when we are done with our homework, we can spend some time planning out. Chapter 16: The Happy Ending

Hatshepsut while playing with Elizabeth and Rosaline, had a beautiful idea. She whispered in her mother's ear,"Let's adopt them!" Her mom hesitated for a while then finally decided she would adopt them. And so, our story ends with a Happy Ending!

Chapter 15: Orphans!

Elizabeth was talking to Hatshepsut so much that sometimes Hatshepsut slept. After many days only did Hatshepsut's mother ask,"Have you come with your parents?" Then, she saw a feeling of sorrow surge up them and wondered why. As she quietly wept, Elizabeth told her,"We are orphans." Their pen pal's mother felt shocked. So, she brought up a different subject. "Do you want to play with Hatshepsut?" she asked. "Sure." Then, H's mother said,"Wait. I need to talk with my daughter." Their pen pal's mother took her daughter by her arm and brought her into a room. She discussed with her that Elizabeth and Rosaline were orphans. Tomorrow...

Chapter 14: Pen Pal!

They called up Hatshepsut's mother again and asked where she/they were waiting "I'm waiting at the exit of the airport" she replied. "Okay see you there!" As they approached the exit to the airport, for the first time they actually were noticing what was around them. Then Elizabeth saw something that made her heart break. She saw that terrible kidnapper with his gang. She tried to act normal but couldn't, so, she took Rosaline by her hand and ran into the crowd before he could notice her. Then she saw someone which made her heart form together again. It was Hatshepsut herself! Rosaline and Elizabeth parked their suitcases next to Hatshepsut's mother and ran towards their pen pal and hugged her. She didn't hug back since it felt absurd. She never ran up to someone and hugged them. Her mother was always on discipline. Continued on Monday...

Chapter 13: Airplanes

They took their seats and they got to sit next to each other. What's more, they were excited that there was a mini TV attached to the back of the people seats that were sitting in front of them. When the announcer announced they were about to take off, Rosaline clung to Elizabeth. She could feel the airplane gaining speed. Then when they took off, Rosaline gripped Elizabeth so hard that it felt like her nails were digging into Elizabeth's skin. When they were in the air, Rosaline became much more calmer and decided to watch TV. Then Elizabeth remembered she had forgotten to call her friend. So, she decided she'd call them when they landed and got off into another airport. This time, they had a 3-hour wait. Elizabeth quickly called her pen pal whose name was Hatshepsut. Her mother had wanted to name her after one of the famous Egyptian queens. Amazingly, Hatshepsut's mother accepted the call and agreed to wait for them at their last stop, Egyptian airport. Then Elizabeth quickly bought some fast food for her and her sister. They boarded and they got down a few more planes and Rosaline was sad that the last airplane did not have a TV. In the Egyptian Airport, they took their luggage and went on a lookout for Hatshepsut or Hatshepsut's mother. They had no idea how they looked like. Continued tomorrow....

Chapter 12: Egypt, here we come!

After much fighting, they decide upon Egypt. They had enough money for their trip. Even after paying for the hotels and flights, they had lots of money. (Somehow, the librarian had been lending them tons of money. Was she rich? or was someone vandalising her account, taking control over it and giving all the money.) To tell you the truth though somebody was vandalising her account. Someone has hacked into her account. Well anyway, let's get back to Rosaline and Elizabeth. So, as I said in the previous chapter, they're going to Egypt to meet their pen pal. So, they go to the International Airport. They have a 6-hour wait. After they get set for their first time in their air plane and booking tickets blah blah blah... they decide to look around the airport. They decided they will stop what they're doing after 5 hrs. Just in case they need to go bathroom and also in case they get lost. After 5hrs. they get ready to go and find their places to board their air plane. Will be continued...

Chapter 11: The Journey to Fremont

Now, the journey to Fremont was going to take a while. They just had moved all the way South and now they were going back to Northern California. They almost forgot! They forgot to go to Disneyland! Then Elizabeth says, "Who cares? These people chasing us around might even lead us all the way to Florida!" They then continued on and on. But, Elizabeth didn't even know where Fremont was. So, she ended up staring at the SF Airport. "Well, who caes? We in fwont of Shan Fwanshishco Aepote. We could go to anuther pwace! We could pwobabwy see ouw pen pow!" Elizabeth was surprised, first of all, because her sister hadn't talked for a while and second, what she said had been a great idea! "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go somewhere!" said Elizabeth. And so, their journey continues on. Will be continued tomorrow...

Chapter 10

You thought it was the end did you? That dad was not their dad at all. That kidnapper and his helper had just created a scene to confuse people. All is only well, when it ends well. Those police were not real police. They were the kidnapper's friends dressed in police clothes. So, it wasn't until a few days after where we had left them that they noticed this wasn't their dad. They had very little chances of escaping. One day though, the kidnapper and all his friends went on a one-week cruise forgetting that the girls were there. "Now, is the chance!" whispered Elizabeth to Rosaline. As they saw the car drive out of the driveway and out to the real world. Elizabeth and Rosaline waited a while and looked around. Nobody was there but they still tiptoed sneakily out of the whole area the kidnapper owned earning tons of money in kidnapping. Once they reached the end of his area, they made sure they cleared out of the way and ran to their hotel, until they yelled,"Freedom!" The girls decided they'd leave for a city called Fremont tomorrow. They packed how much they could at night, slept, ate breakfast, packed the rest of their things and left for Fremont. Continued tomorrow...

Chapter 9: Almost the End?!!!!

"Well, well, well! We meet again! Snooping around. Eh?" said the kidnapper taking of his mask which revealed him. The whole Breakfast Place got quiet as everyone started to tiptoe out of there. "Stop!" yelled the kidnapper suddenly. "You're not going to use the tiptoe-away-and-call-the-police trick on me!" Then he turned around to the girls again. Then he spat to Elizabeth on her face, "So you managed to fool me and escape with your sister? Well, now you won't!" Then suddenly a voice rang out, "Oh, yes they will!" "Who said that?" he said pointing his gun to everybody in the Breakfast Place. "It was me sir!" said the man standing up. "Well, thanks for calling me sir." said the man grinning and suddenly his grin turned into a frown and he said, "But, you will not escape me now will you?" "Now run away to your family before you get thrashed!" "I don't have a family and I lost my two daughters a few years ago. One of them was 1 and the other was 6 at that time." The kidnapper's bottom lip quivered and he ran away bawling but fell right into the police's trap. Elizabeth and Rosaline ran to the man who had just rescued them and cried, "Daddy!" The man asked, "Are you really my daughters?" "What are our names?" they asked in unison. "The oldest one was Elizabeth and the youngest one was Rosaline." "You've got it!" they shouted.

Chapter 8: Safe and Sound?

When they reached their hotel room after having a delicious dinner down in their hotel's restaurant. They had not really gotten to know their hotel. So, they looked at everything. Everything was in great shape. Now, came the fun. They could watch any TV show they wanted without anyone telling them to change the TV channels. After watching lots of cartoons, at 12:00 they went to sleep. Around 5:00 a.m. they woke up to the sound of lots of noises. They decided it better to take a bath quickly and reach the Breakfast Place before any hullabaloo. When they reached there though, there was a woman sitting by herself in a corner of the Breakfast Place. It reminded the girls about what they had dreamt as their mom. Then, what seemed like a dad came. He looked like he had not eaten for a month. In real life though, it was true that he hadn't eaten for a month. They walked towards the mom and asked,"Excuse me ma'am, why are you so sad?" She only screamed at them with these words,"I hate children! Now go away!" Rosaline and Elizabeth surprisingly stepped away. Then at once they realised it was the kidnapper. To be continued tomorrow...

Chapter 7: A Very Bad Situation

Since that incident, Elizabeth never went outside of the hotel. But, Rosaline kept on nagging her, and at the end she ended up going outside with Rosaline. Anyway, they would have to leave the hotel in 3 weeks since they only booked the hotel for 1 month. As they were walking, they stumbled upon a person. She said, "Sorry" and was about to leave but decided to see who this person was. She was surprised to see that it was none other than one of the most famous people dressed in ordinary clothes and walking down the same street a regular person would. She ran away feeling really ashamed and then realised she had left Rosaline at the spot. She then heard crying and a car drive away. When Elizabeth reached the scene it was too late and she realised that that man had kidnapped Rosaline and she also then realised that this man was no famous person, it was the kidnapper she had seen a few days ago. She ran in the direction the car had driven towards. She spotted it stopping at a store so she decided to stand in front of the car so that when he saw her he would throw her into the car's trunk where Rosaline was. When he did come out, he didn't notice that this girl was the sister of the girl he had just kidnapped. So, he just threw her in too. As he was driving, in his rush he had forgotten to close the car's trunk so, they escaped without him knowing. At last, they were together. They hopped into a store where they had knives and scissors she freed herself and then her sister then ran away to their hotel back again. She said, "Rosaline, we are not going to leave the hotel until the day we leave, okay?" "Okay!" To be continued on Monday...

Chapter 6: Close Call

A kidnapper had seen them! No Parents! Just a suitcase! Then Elizabeth felt someone spying on them. The man didn't know her awareness. So, when the next adults came, they just walked with them. The guy then believed that those adults were there parents. They had a close call though, because the man who was looking at those girls was none other than a notorious kidnapper of LA. Then, Elizabeth talked to the adults they had walked with. They seemed very kind. When Elizabeth and Rosaline asked if they could stay at their house though, they said no and walked away. Now, the kidnapper spotted that and knew he could probably kidnap them. Although, by the time the kidnapper and his sidekick were ready, they had disappeared. The kidnapper decided he'd have to get onto the side the girls were on to be able to at least try to kidnap them. The girls ran towards their hotel and payed the money for a month's stay and went to their room. When they got to their room, Rosaline asked, "Sissy, why did yu wun away suddenwy?" All Elizabeth said was, "Because we're in danger." Then Elizabeth decided to tell her sister the rest,"I saw a suspicious-looking man coming our way. He looked like he was trying to kidnap us. So, I just decided we would be safe in the hotel." That's all for today! Bye!

Chapter 5: Villains or not?!!!

We left them at the BART station didn't we? Well, as you already know they got more money because they looked like beggars. As the BART train left the station, they took their seats. After around 5hrs. the train came to a stop. The train put its breaks so fast that Elizabeth woke up all shaking. Elizabeth tried waking up Rosaline but ended up carrying her. When Elizabeth saw Los Angeles, she noticed it had two sides to it. A side for poor people and the other side for rich people. When Elizabeth was about to cross the road, she felt someone tapping her shoulder. When she turned around she saw this kind-looking woman. "Need help?" she asked. "No, thanks." Elizabeth replied. Then Elizabeth  ran to hide in a corner. Suddenly, Elizabeth remembered she had a cellphone. She called the librarian and asked for directions to the hotel. They followed directions to the hotel. Elizabeth then said,"Bye!" to the librarian when she saw the hotel and told the librarian not to tell anyone that they were in Los Angeles. As they arrived, they found the hotel was named Comfort Inn. I hope it's comfortable like it says. She then woke up Rosaline. "Rosaline wake up! We're at Los Angeles!" Rosaline opened her eyes and unlike people that just woke up from a sleep, her eyes opened up wide. "We at Wos Angewes! We at Wos Angewes!" She got down and jumped around. Two people were spying on them with binoculars. Who were they? Let's find out tomorrow.

Chapter 4: Almost there

So, as they leave the library and head for the woods, something else is happening in the orphanage. The orphanage lady is in distress as the adopting mom comes and starts a dispute. "How dare you let them run away!" "I...I..-"Speak up you impudent thing!" "I was inspecting their rooms yesterday and they were just playing with the toys!" "Oh my, oh my! Are there any other girls I could adopt?" "Yes,yes go see for yourself." As the mom left, the orphanage lady mumbled to herself, "Now where could those children have gone?" Where they were was the southern part of San Francisco. As they approached the end of San Francisco they noticed a board that said, "Welcome to San Jose." Elizabeth knew about a few cities below San Francisco. She knew San Jose wasn't this close and thought it was just a trick. Then she notice that they indeed were in San Jose's freeway but not the actual San Jose. They walked on the freeway following the cars. They finally reached San Jose around 8:00p.m. and decided to set up camp in some nearby trees. After many nights, they reached a small city near Los Angeles called Lancaster. They still had one whole day until they would at least reach the beginning of Los Angeles. They had some money in their hands, they payed for tickets and got onto BART for Los Angeles. Since their clothes looked all tattered, people thought they were beggars and gave money to them. Let's find out what happens next, tomorrow... will they reach Los Angeles safely or will they have to be careful about dangers.

Chapter 3- Planning of the Journey

Where were they running away? They hadn't the slightest idea. They were just going to go wherever their feet took them. Then, they had a big idea. They decided not to stay in San Francisco but go to LA where the movie stars lived. They hid and slept behind the library that night. The next morning, they went into the library. The librarian was kind to them whenever they came in. This time, she was able to help them as they were the only ones in the library. "We are trying to run away to LA." Elizabeth whispered to the librarian. "May we use your computer to book flights and hotels?" The librarian said, "What's this all about?" "There's a lady that's going to adopt us at 10:00 from the orphanage but she's mean. She won't let us meet or see each other in the house." After much hesitation she agreed. Then suddenly the librarian said,"How long are you going to stay there?" "For how long we can afford I guess?"replied Elizabeth. "Oh, and also, can you send us money while we're there?" "I'll see, said the librarian. I can't promise you." This is only the beginning of this journey...

Chapter 2: The Runaways

As that adopting lady left the scene, the next morning, the orphanage lady said to Elizabeth and Rosaline, "Spend all the time you want with yourselves right now because she will be coming to pick you up tomorrow morning at 10:00 ok?" "Ok ma'am," they said. Although, they knew that they would probably have escaped by then. Instead of spending time with each other, they packed all their belongings and were about to leave, when the orphanage lady was just passing-by the rooms. Lucky for them, she didn't see. So, they continued through the hole and both of them made it into the fresh San Francisco night air. To see what happens next, wait 'til Monday...

Chapter 1: The Wicked Lady

"I'm going to save you." she breathed. "I'm going to save you." Her little sister, Rosaline pondered upon why her sister was saying this. She then asked,"Sissy, what awe you shaying?" With that Elizabeth told her little sister what had happened and what she had heard. This might be weird though, but her little sister, Rosaline, said,"Let's wun away." Elizabeth had a sudden excitement and told Rosaline," C'mon let's pack our bags and use the money we do have." In all their excitement they forgot all about why they were running away. Just then, they heard footsteps. When the orphanage lady and the mom who had decided to adopt just Rosaline came in, Rosaline and her sissy as she called Elizabeth were shivering with fear hugging tightly to one another knees buckled. Seeing this the mom decided she would adopt both of them. "But, they will not be able to see each other in the house or meet anywhere in the house!" she said. The orphanage lady then said that this lady could not take these children by law. They had a large dispute. Finally, the orphanage lady gave up but said,"Give them one more day to spend time with each other please." Elizabeth and Rosaline were overjoyed by this and tried not to show it. If this one day was worth it, Elizabeth and Rosaline could probably run away! Let's find out what happens next tomorrow...

Preface

The girl went to sleep with her usual "no good night" at her terrible orphanage. She always dreamed that someone would adopt her. She had a little sister with her in the orphanage also. Whenever someone came to adopt children they wouldn't take siblings together. But this girl, Elizabeth, was not going to go easy on those parents like the others had. How? was the only question. After many days, a parent finally came. When Elizabeth eavesdropped she was shocked by what she had heard. She ran back to her little sister and hugged her tight. What she heard was obvious. Find out what happens next tomorrow...

Starting a new line of posts

From the next post onwards, I am going to write my own storybook from the ideas I've read in books. I hope this is going to be good. Also, I won't be writing the whole story in 30 minutes. I'm going to write a chapter every day. Then, depending on my classes on the weekends I will write. So, the weekends I'm not so sure that I will be doing blog posts. Ok, thanks. I just wanted you to know about it. Bye!

First Day of School- 9/2/10

Yesterday was the first day of school in my school. I'm in sixth grade now. Most schools start on the 1st at least in elementary. I love this new school so far. I started last school year in June. In my class there are 30 students including me. I'm also very happy that every week in sixth grade we get to go to the school library and checkout at least 4 books. (As you might know I love reading books.) I have to be careful with my homework the most because then I would get in trouble.  I'm looking forward to this school year. If your schools started yesterday, or before, I hope you enjoy it. Bye!

Trip to Berkley and San Francisco

Aug. 14, 2010
San Francisco and Berkeley:
Out of the time we usually are awake in a day, we spent ¾ of the time in Downtown San Francisco and The Golden Gate Bridge. We parked near Pier 39, and walked all the way to Crooked Street, climbed all the way up the stairs and back down again. By that time, we were already hungry. So we stopped at a Pizza Shop and had pizza. Train’s song: “Hey, Soulsister” came on. Right when we were leaving, my favorite song “No One” by Alicia Keys came on. But, I couldn’t listen to the whole song, since we were headed towards……………. Ghirardelli Square! After eating ice cream there, we left downtown and arrived at          The Golden Gate Bridge. We spent some time there taking pictures then came into the car to eat snacks. Then we drove passed Emeryville to Berkeley. There, we went inside U.C. Berkeley and saw the clock tower. We made three attempts to find the entrance to the university, and on the last attempt at around 8: 45, we found the entrance. We took a few pictures in front of the entrance and ran back to our car. Finally, at 9:00 we ate dinner at an Indian restaurant in Berkley. Of course we drove back home that day and slept right away. That was my trip to San Francisco and Berkley.

Reading Books

If any of you who read my blog enjoy reading books, this is the right place for you. I also enjoy reading books. Have you ever read a little bit of a book at the library and then thought of continuing  at home. But, you have another book and you say to yourself: "I'll read a little of the second book I thought of and then read the first book." Once you start reading the second book, you drift away into the world of that book and then you forget totally about the first book you read at the library. Then, you continue on with the second book, finish it, and then, read the first book. This is a situation I faced just today.

My Water Fun!

Yesterday, after lunch, my mother inflated a plastic inflatable pool. She filled it up with water. Then, my little brother and I dressed up and dived into the pool. Then I went under the water and rolled 4 times. I was able to swim under water even though it was pretty shallow. The sad thing was, there was a tree with alot of flowers falling down and alot of them fell into the pool. So, I decided we could wade under the water. So, whenever we left one side, as we waded the flowers got pushed away from us. I wish I could swim again today. But, my mom said only on Friday. Ok, bye!

  • Formula: CH3C6H9(C3H7)OH
  • Type: Organic
  • Form: Solid
If you ingest or inhale this compound as a lozenge then it will relieve cough, nasal congestion and sore throats. If you gargle with a large amount of menthol-containing mouthwash, it can cause a burning sensation. If you ingest alot of this compound, it will cause: abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, and coma.

Chemical Compound of the Day: Ethylene Glycol

Do not ever think about making someone ingest this! Don't you ever drink it either! I don't know how this was found out, but someone has definitely ingested this before because I read somewhere that this compound is a clear, SWEET, SYRUPY, liquid. Anyway, 9 billion lbs. of this compound has been produced in the United States every year. Now, what will happen to you if you ingest it? You basically will DIE! It has a sweet taste so if anyone gets their hands on it, they will want more and simply will die of kidney damage. Antifreeze contains this compound so don't drink antifreeze either! Ok, bye!

My Weird July 4th of 2010!

Tomorrow is July 4th! Saturday Night! Can't wait till morning. Not sleeping whole night. Waking up tired in the morning. This sounds like how I would be a night before a trip. It wasn't just the fireworks I was excited of. I was excited of how the city, Emeryville, was going to be-including the rest of the trip. We drove and stopped at Berkley which is pretty close to Emeryville. They had a park there. My favorite part of that was a trolley. You have to climb a rope with a red tire-like thing. You sit on it and it will swing you. It's like a gondola except it's small, open-spaced, and faster. And the rope at the end, swings you off, and you go land on a pile of sand. Then came the hotel which was rather well- maintained and good service until the dreaded thing came. As fireworks time dawned on us fireworks began but we could see nothing being on one of the top floors. Plus, they took $20 from us just for that. So, our July 4th didn't act as planned. But, I felt that the next day was even more fun even though we were leaving. The reason being we took a ferry from Sausalito to San Francisco. It was really fun going on the back of the ship instead of inside. Also, it was fun just exploring the other side of San Francisco. i thought it was better than the other San Francisco I've seen more than once. Getting onto the Golden Gate Bridge nowadays, is not tough. So, we went on that bridge and the Bay Bridge. The Bay Bridge looks like a crown at night. So after we came back to Sausalito, we drove back home.

Chemical Compound of the Day: Ethyl Alcohol

It's very obvious if any ordinary person were to see it, that this is plainly an alcohol. It especially has the effects that a drunk person would have after drinking. Although, if a chemist or a specialist in this area were to see this compound they would think deep into the molecules what the description is and probably even more. Ethyl alcohol is a burnable clear, colorless liquid with a sharp, burning taste and a wine-like odor. (I don't like the smell of wine.) Extra Info: Formula: CH3CH2OH Elements: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen Type: Organic Fun Fact: Purell Hand Sanitizer contains 62% of this compound. This is a simple overview of this compound. To learn more, visit: http://www.ben.mills.btinternet.co.uk/chemistry/dict.htm Note: This website can be used for all chemical compounds I talk about.

No more Word of the Day - My first day at my new school

The first day in my new school was actually June 1st and today was the last day of school and we had popsicles. Anyway, on my first day of school I didn't have the friends I have now. There are five friends and I'm the sixth. But, one of them is not always with us. The school is a good school. It has a big campus and it's own library! The system that goes on during the school year officially ends on the last week of May. The last two weeks I played with the group I made. One of them didn't want to leave for the summer. Tomorrow, I'm going to my old school. Ok, bye!

Review of A Different Beat

A Different Beat is a book printed in 1996 and written by Candy Dawson Boyd. It's about a girl named Jessie who studies at OPA with three other girls. The group is called "The Fours." Jessie Williams is facing two problems: 1. Her dad wants her to keep her grades up or else she will be sent to Milton Middle School. 2. She has a rival at school named Addie Mae. IT is very tough for Jessie. But, later on she's able to manage her temper and able to manage to keep her grades up. This is not the whole story. Read the book if you want to know the story. Anyway, bye! I know this is a way different topic. But, that's because I lost my wordlist. Ok, toodle-oo! (Don't blame me if I spelled toodle-oo wrong. I have no idea how to spell it.)

Genial

A GENIAL SUBSTANCE is a substance conductive in growth. For animals, exercise and food are the two main genial substances. For plants, water and the sun are two main genial substances. For fungi, it needs water and liquidy items for its survival. If you have noticed, I have been listing the five kingdoms. I know the last two. They are monera and protista. But, I have no idea what their genial substances are. OK, once I get the answer, I will edit and tell you. So, bye!

Genesis

There is again, more than one definition for genesis. But there's only two. (The successor of 1.) Anyway, don't look at what I put in the brackets. It has nothing to do with the definitions of genesis. By the way, the two definitions are: 1. The beginning or the origin of something or someone. 2. This second definition says See Table at Bible. I do not know what it means. Although, I think I may know what the second definition. The second definition has something to do with Christian Saints and Christian beliefs. It says Bible in it. Also, says origin. In the bible I read one sentence. It said something like "God created the World." That's what the second definition has to do with. The first definition means the regular definition: The beginning or the origin of something or someone.. Ok, I've been talking too much. So, bye!

Galvanize

Galvanize has 3 meanings. I will write all of them below: 1. To stimulate or shock with an electric current. 2. To arouse to awareness or action; spur. 3. To coat (iron or steel) with rust-resistant zinc. Those are all three. To me, only two of them are easy to write about. Which ones are they? That's one simple thing. The first two. Now, your activity is going to be which ones are the easiest to write for you. Then, you're going to give me a sentence with one of the one, two, or three definitions you chose. My sentence with the second definition: We should galvanize in helping the needy. Ok,bye! See ya!

Gait

Gait is a mannerism of how a person walks with their feet. Like a clumsy gait. A stable gait. I don't mean to bring up a bad subject, but when people are drunk and they walk, they have a clumsy gait. Now, that's because they're in a daze. Well, now I'll refrain from that subject. People that sit or stand or run or do any activity other than bending without keeping their back perfectly straight, will result in a crooked back. And you know how your back becomes crooked? It happens because you keep bending your spinal cord. See, if I got a thin metal piece and twisted it, that's exactly what's happening it's forming in the shape that you bend it into. So, please try to walk straight or else you know what will happen. Bye!

Furor

From furor take out o and r. Replace them with y. That word is a synonym for furor. Now, you might get why I hesitated to type this word today. It's obvious if you read my previous post. You'll see that this word just means one step down from yesterday's word. What I mean is this word is just not extremely but regular. Furor can also mean madness meaning craziness. But, anyway bye! SEE YOU!

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Fume

There are two meanings for fume. One is to emit smoke and the other is to become extremely angry. The second meaning kind of looks like it has derived from the first one. To fume up. Have you ever fumed up? I don't fume up ever. I just get a little angry. But, alot of people in my class fume up alot. Especially, this specific girl. Just one word like even if you said that she was excellent. She'd run away and cry in a corner. So, she is very sensitive and fumes up easily. Nowadays though, she tries to hold it. That's Good! Bye! Have a great day!

Frugal

Frugal means not wasteful. Frugal can also mean costing little/inexpensive. Some might want to save their money for economical uses. So,they would try to buy things that are inexpensive. Non-wasteful products can be seen in a bad way and a good way for economical reasons. The bad way is that when companies start making their products smaller. The good way is that companies can use recyclable items for their products also. Some people call the bad way inflation. Although, because the size is becoming smaller, shouldn't it be called deflation. Or do they call it inflation because it has nothing to do with the food shape or size? I have no idea! But, now, it's time to end the session!

If you do not know what NASA stands for, let's start with that. It stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration. For the facts, I learnt about 4 forces that can make an airplane move. Here are the 4 forces with it's definitions:
1. Lift: To push from under.
2. Drag: To slow down.
3. Thrust: To push forward.
4. Gravity: The force that keeps us on the ground.
Those are the 4 forces. Then we got to go on 3 spinning rides. The first one we went on was the Orbital Chair. We had to sit in two chairs on opposite sides. We were separated by a ladder-like thing. Then the tour guide would spin us and we would throw balls at each other and try to catch them. Then, we went on the Momentum Wheel. It was where we had to go on a small shaped podium and hold two bars that looked like scooter bars and when we stretched farther from the bars, the slower it went. But, when we stretched out, and came back into the circle it would spin real fast. Last, was the Gyro Chair. It wasn't fun as the other two, but the wheel we held in front of us was heavy and shook our bodies because it was vibrating really hard. What we did was, we sat on a chair and held a wheel that kept circling and we were able to steer the chair. When I steered the wheel to the left the chair moved left and the same thing when I steered it to the right. Ok, bye!

Fortify

Fortify means to protect or strengthen against attack. Have any of you read about all the wars? Even though the Cold War mostly was a spying war, they still had fortifications. Also, if your family was on the other side of the Berlin Wall, too bad! If you went over the wall, you're shot dead! So, now that wall separated America, Western Germany and Eastern Germany, Soviet Union. Now, this all happened because Hitler thought he could take over the whole world. Later, Hitler wanted to take over Soviet Union. Hitler started with Europe. He already had Germany. He never was able to get to Asia. He got Africa. Somehow, though, he got stopped. Ok, bye! Getting very late!

Forthright

The word means frank; going straight to the point. Have you ever talked forthrightly? I don't think so. Unless, there was nothing to distract you from what you were going to say. I know that nobody unless you have very good concentration would go forthright to what they were saying. Or, you may just say what you were going to, before you talk about something else. But, I'm not that type of person. Yes, it is Mystery Girl typing. It's not my mom typing. What I mean, is I'm a little bad at concentrating on one point. So, once I say something out of the subject, I forget what I was going to say. Anyway, today I'm going on a field trip. Now, that's a subject I will not forget! Bye!

Flux

In easy and basic words, flux means diarrhea. Now, it just doesn't mean "diarrhea." The verb version of it is to become a fluid. There's also a meaning that says to treat with a flux. I have no idea what it means. Also, I am not putting a picture of diarrhea at the bottom. So, that's good. But, hey! Everybody must have had diarrheal before. Anyway, why am I talking about diarrhea? Oh yeah, that's right it;s the word of the day! Ok, don't blame if some of the Word of the Days are gross. It's because I pick out words from a list. So, it was weird to see that flux means diarrhea. Ok, now bye!

Flexor

A flexor is a muscle serving to bend a body part such as the limb. Now, there is this thing called Achilles tendinitis. It's when you overuse an effected limb. Luckily, I'm not an athlete. The reason be that, athletes are the ones that mostly get affected. Barely no one else but athletes get it. I guess maybe old people that love to exercise may get it. Ok, bye!

Figment

Figment means something fiction. What is fiction? Fantasy or something made up. What's the term for the definition of something made up? Other than fiction and fantasy, It's a 3 lettered word. A synonym for the word is fib. Now, it must be easy. No, it's not fib! The word is not fib! It's....... wait a minute I'm not supposed to tell you until the next post which is tomorrow. But, if you know the word before tomorrow, please tell me in your comments. The prize is having the pride of winning. Ok, bye!

Fastidious

Fastidious has 5 meanings. Although, I am going to be using one. Like in my post for one of the e's post, I'm going to give you the link to these meanings: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/fastidious
Now, when you saw the word fastidious, what did you think the meaning was. If you thought it was something related to the meaning of being fast, you're wrong. It means a person that is hard to please. So, is there anybody in your family that you think is fastidious? You might just know somebody. Ok, so, bye!

Expedite

Expedite means to execute promptly. Now, there are many different meanings. One meaning which little boys would love. Another meaning means to kind of give a performance. Now, promptly means quick. So, a quick performance. There are others but I do not want to focus on them right now. You can see the other meanings in the link that is following: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/expedite

Extrapolate

If you extrapolate something, you are inferring or finding out an unknown using the known. Now, this can occur in math, science, and mysteries. Math? In algebra, using the known information to find out the unknown information. Science? In science, there are many formulas so there must be a way to use extrapolation. Mysteries? Well, you use extrapolation and use whatever you know already and match it up with what has happened. So, as far as I know, three subjects can use extrapolation. Bye!

Extort

Extort kind of means to rob or school wise, bully. It's when somebody obtains or takes by force illegally. In a way, bullies are obtaining stuff illegally. They, wouldn't get arrested though like adults would. But, they would either get suspended or even worse expelled. Now, that's the reason bullies get suspended or expelled. To teach them they're doing wrong. Since, once you grow up, and do these stuff especially with guns you're arrested. I've heard that bullies are evil to us because they have some problems in their families. They are so depressed and can't hurt anyone at home, so they hurt people at school. Those are bullies. Bye!

Exposition

What is the reason you're doing something is an exposition. For example: Exposition for why you were doing your homework late at midnight. Why would you be doing it at midnight? Obviously, the homework is due the next day or the day after and you were finishing it up. Why look for it at midnight? Exposition: Ya think ya folks are sleepin', but they have eyes everywhere. So, you look for your homework. Anyway, these things I've typed with expositions aren't what I do. Good Bye!

Experiential

The dictionary says this is the meaning for experiential: derived from experience. Is that the meaning or is it just saying that experiential has derived from experience? What I mean is, is the meaning for experiential: derived from experience or is it just saying the word experiential has derived from experience. Please send by Saturday in comments. I don't understand it. Ok, bye!

Monday, April 12, 2010

Exotic

Do you like exotic fruits? Exotic means coming from another country, meaning foreign. jack fruit is not very exotic but I still love it. I like trying new fruits more than new foods. But, exotic doesn't always have to focus on food. It can be items also. For example: dancing, animals, plants, people. (Tribes can be exotic!)Do you think anything else can be exotic? I don't know anything else. Remember, no food! Ok, bye!

Exemplar

Exemplar means a model or example. When I say model not a dress-up model, but a role model or something like a blueprint. For those of you who don't know, a blueprint is a piece of paper that tells the constructor how the (whatever he's building) is wanted to look like. A blueprint is basically, a model drawn on paper. One more thing, before I take my leave. Do not ever mistake the model in the meaning of exemplar as a fashion model. It's a role model. Bye!

Excursion

EXCURSION. Can you guess what it means? It means a brief pleasure trip. I've been on a few excursions as far as I remember. Las Vegas, Florida, Los Angeles, San Diego, Massachusetts, San Simeon, Anaheim (many times, especially when in mom's tummy) etc. That's how much I could remember. Now, I think that excursions are pleasure trips where you stay in a hotel for at least one day. Not a year. I think a year would be when you live there. Excursions are "brief" trips. So, I would think that the maximum for an excursion is a week. If you have been on any excursions, pick your favorite and tell me about your trip. Bye for now!

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Evolution

Evolution means the process of formation or growth. For example, the evolution of the English language. Evolution doesn't always have to be about humans. It can be just about anything that forms. There's also the evolution of history. There's many things. You name it. I'm sorry this is a short one but I don't know what else to type. Bye!

Monday, April 5, 2010

Evasive

Evade is evasive's base word. It means to get away with trickery. Now, before I was going to write this post, I was attacked by a horrible monster in the computer! Just kidding. So, in the computer, there was a picture of a young man that they "tried" to make him look like an old man. He doesn't look like one though. He looks like a monster with the wrinkles they drew on him in "computer graphics." He looks like Frankenstein with no green skin though. I of course knew that they used "computer graphics" on that dude. Anyway, bye! Oh, and happy spring break! (For those of you who have it this week.

Book report Apr '10 - My Board Game

SR's Hodge Podge

Number of Players

Two

Game Board Setup

1 Main Board
8 maze board pieces
8 Action Point Cards (APCs) (4 each)
2 Action Figures
6 Peanut butter cups

1.Pick a random player.
2.Shuffle the 8 boards and arrange it in 2 columns and 4 rows.
3.Place the peanut butter cups in the squares marked with energy.
4.Place the Action Figures on the start (car) square on the main board on either side.

You are all set to start!

How to play

1.Each player has to arrange the action card in the ascending order
2.During the first turn, the player can only play 2 AP
3.Each AP lets the player make one action. The actions can be moving a square, rotating the quadrant 90 degrees more than once, opening the door or closing the door
4.If the player uses AP 2, then flip the 2 APCs upside down.
5. The next player has to play equal or greater by 1 AP.
6. If a player ends up on an energy square and there is a peanut butter cup which the player can save it for traps.
7. If a player ends up on a trap have to loose a turn. But, if the player has a peanut butter cup, can use it to get out of the trap and move to the next square.
8.If a player ends up on a rotation gear, the player can rotate that quadrant or the same colored quadrant clockwise 90 degrees one time. If the player wants to rotate more than once, each 90 degrees costs an AP. Eg., of the player wants to rotate it 180 degrees (additoinal 90 degrees), it costs one AP. Tips: This helps to rearrange the maze which might be helpful to the player and might be a blocker to the opponent.
9. The game ends when the player reaches the opponent's starting point.

Rules
1.Player cannot move diagonally or backwards. If the player ends up in a dead-end, has to start over
2.Used peanut butter cups are removed from the board

Etymologist

Have you seen online dictionaries or some book dictionaries? Have you seen the word etymology under the main entry which is the word you're looking up? For example= Go to this link: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/centrifugal. There above the meanings look for the word etymology (you can use the search box too.) What does it say if it says something like this after the colon: New Latin centrifugus, from centr- + Latin fugere to flee — more at fugitive
Then, you're on the right track if not, you're on the wrong track. Anyway, if you couldn't find it, it's okay. So, in the etymology that I'm showing you here, what do you think an etymologist studies and what does etymology mean? This is your activity. Do this any time I don't mind .

Ethnic

Do you know what ethnic means? Well, if you didn't know, then I can tell you now. Ethnic means a group of people that are different by language, religion, and many other things (et cetera. Remember, yesterday's word.) In my school, about at least, 85% are Indians meaning from India not Native Americans. Also, from my previous post, you can tell, I'm done with presenting my state report to the whole school. It wasn't only me of course. There are 15 kids excluding me. We had to do alot of stuff. Anyway, this word was hard for me to write about because it's an easy one so bye!

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Et Al

Et al. This word it has a meaning. But, I have not even the closest idea of how to use it in a sentence. One thing. Et cetera refers to things while et al refers to people. But, the actual meaning for et al? Let me see about that. Oh, now I understand what they mean by et cetera refers to things while et al refers to people! If you had to name thousands of people while writing or talking, you could just say et al. When you have to name many things then you'd say et cetera. So, it seems that you're not supposed to use et cetera when talking about thousands of people. You use et cetera when you're talking about thousands of "things". Even though this is out of the subject, I can't wait until tomorrow. We will be presenting our state reports. Ok, anyway, bye!

Espionage

Espionage means to spy. But, not just any spying. Spying on other countries' military forces, like that. There were many wars in the world. A few are: The Vietnam War, The American Revolutionary War, The Civil War, The Cold War and World Wars 1&2. There were many spies that espionaged the opponent's or enemy's side. They used secret codes also. If there was a person that you wanted to get a letter to, and your enemy's soldiers guard a section in front of the place you want to get it to, then they made use of secret codes. The Cold War wasn't exactly a war where you used weapons to defeat the enemy's team whoever it may be. It was a war where they passed cruel notes, and secret codes to each other. There was also a wall separating. It separated West Germany and East Germany. Ok, now bye!

Table Tennis history

Do you know where Table Tennis was born? China? Korea? India? Japan? These are the ideas popped up in mind. But, were any of them right? Nope. Britain. The British Officers used to play with cigar boxes as a paddle and a bottle cork for the ball. After the British the whole Europe to know of it. Also, because India was a British colony at the time, India also started playing. Late on, China came to know of it and China's governor adopted and payed money for people to play. In China, about a million were players that just played for fun and 300,000 that were full- time players meaning that's what they did as their job. Sadly, although India knew this game none ever made it to the finals. Countries like China for example: Japan and a few European countries have made it. Ok, bye!

Era

Era is a period of time when something happens or a period of time somebody is born into. Like, your old relatives probably were born into the era where there was no light. Or they might've born into the era where there was no TV or the time or era when girls weren't aloud to go to school. There's this girl in my class that's kind of the class joker and she loves TV. So, if she were in the era where there was no TV, I'd surely be enjoying seeing that look on her face. Me, well, I don't care TV or not. I can survive without one. Anyway, Bye!

Envisage

Have you ever, when reading a book, thought that something in the book in real life would happen? Or have you ever had a little movie in your mind while you were reading a book? Well, if you have, then that means you're able to envisage stories in your mind. Envisage also means to think or use your imagination. My hobby as you might've seen on my profile is reading books. So, obviously that's why I started out with the topic about books. Here on the left hand side is a statue thinking. Ok, bye!

Equilibrium

Have you ever been balanced in your emotions? What I mean is that.... have you ever held your emotions. So, if you were angry, you would try not to show it. That's what equilibrium means. Not many people in my class are like that. If I just had heard something funny and I told my friends, if they were angry, they would completely ignore me. Especially, when my class is playing a game, if their team loses, they CRY! We tell them that's it's just a game! But, also, just because it's just a game doesn't mean you can try and win. So, equilibrium kind of means sportsmanship. In a way! Well, I guess that's there that I can say. Also, just wanted you to know. The activities I put up there, they're not compulsory. Although in the summer, if you have time, you can do them.

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Entwine

Entwine means to twist and turn. This twist means like to wrap around something. For example, a vine can wrap around a pole. As the vine grows, it entwines itself around a pole. To me, I think entwine is just a fancy word for twisting around something. What do you think?
Well, I do not know much to write for this post. So, I guess that's all. One sec, I'm going to give you an activity. Three choices you can do any:
1. Make up a story that uses the word entwine at least twice.
2. Make a comic strip that uses the word entwine at least twice.
3. Make a list of things that can entwine.
Ok, bye!

Entail

Entail means to limit inheritance. Even though this book I read isn't about limiting inheritance it's about inheriting money. It's the series called The Unfortunate Series. But, entailing doesn't always have to mean inheriting "MONEY." It can also mean to inherit property. So, in this case, people of course would want to entail their property. I don't think owning tons of property is so great! Also, I don't think inheriting a lot of money is so great either. You would need money. But, not a lot!

THE END!

Enormity

Hi, today's word. As you can see, is enormity. Do you know what it means? If you don't, come play a guessing game. I'll show you a picture and you'll have to guess what enormity means. Now, there's a picture on the far left of a cowboy/ bandit. Now, enormity is the act of whatever that cowboy/bandit would do.

I'll start typing here:
Now, change the subject somehow. I want you to guess with only that clue. Please, I don't want cheating with a dictionary. I want this to be an activity not a worksheet. " Don't think of work as work think of it as play." It's my personal quote. So, trying not to spill the beans I will stop or, I just might somehow type the meaning of enormity. So, Bye!

Engrossed

Today's March 20, 2010. The time? 8:01 a.m. The word? Engrossed. The meaning? To completely engage the attention of. Who loves reading books? Me! This is what happens to me when I'm reading: I get engrossed in it so much. Few nights ago, I was reading: "The Legend of Buddy Bush." I got engrossed in it alot that I didn't notice the time was really beyond my sleeping time. I'm really sorry but, that's all! OK, Bye!

Endearing

Today is St. Patricks Day. So, Happy St. Patricks Day! But, the Word of the Day doesn't have anything to do with St. Patricks Day. Endearing is the Word of the Day. It means to make higher in cost, value, or estimation. Well, in a way, endearing fits in to St. Patricks Day. You spend a lot of money. So, shopkeepers might want to endear the cost than what you bought last time. They do that thinking you couldn't resist the item so you paid for it. Although, the shopkeepers don't know how clever some customers are. So, I guess it's a wrong choice. Anyway, bye! Be clever wit your money! Spend Wisely!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Encroach

Do you know what encroach means? Encroach means a bad thing. It means to trespass which is to walk on other people's property. (In case you don't know what trespass means.) I guess it's really bad to encroach on someone's property if you're an adult. People that can be on your property for just only 1-3 minutes would be a mailman or delivery man most likely. Nobody would unless they were a thief type of person. I know this is a short post. But, I may continue it in another post. Bye! Good Night! It's getting late for me!

Monday, March 15, 2010

Empower

Empower kind of means the same thing as how it sounds when you say it. Power. Empower. Empower means to add final touches to something. Like Frankenstein. In Frankenstein the scientist needs electricity to empower the big monster: Frankenstein. Or, when you're making a robot, to make the robot to stand, talk, sing, sit, and etc. They need to empower every part that makes them do that. ESPECIALLY, those little toys that sing talk or do something with a click of the button. It's really hard to make those push button toys. But, it's real easy to just push a button and ta-da! So, next time you press a button (any type and not the ones on your shirts,) think how hard it was to actually make the button to work. Bye!

Eminently

I forgot to tell you that I'm going to start doing little comic type of posts from now on. Like, the previous post: Dufus in Think Fast!
Today, I'm going to do a comic on a king that thinks highly about himself while a witty peddler is smart and clever to do "something" to the king.
King: No one is better than me. I have everything anybody would want.
Peddler: I can't wait to prove the king wrong that he doesn't have everything. Not EVERYTHING.
King's palace guard: Somebody wishes to see you.
King: SEND HIM IN IMMEDIATELY!
Peddler: Hi, your majesty.
King: What do you mean hi! Anyway, let's get to the subject. What are you here for?
Peddler: I've come here to prove you wrong and that you don't have one thing
King: How dare you say that to me? EXECUTORS!
Peddler: While the executors are coming what is 150+ 1800?
King: 1300?
Peddler: Wrong! It's 1950! See I told you, you don't  have knowledge. Now, you may kill me!
King: I do not wish to kill you! You are knowledgeable. You will be my minister in place of my greedy one.
Peddler: I honor you your majesty!
Narrator: And so, here we will end the story with a happy ending.

                                        The End!

Embark

                                           Dufus in THINK FAST!

Dufus: Embark. What does it mean?
Frances: It means to board a vessel or an aircraft when the journey is beginning.
Dufus: What do you mean to board a vessel or an aircraft when the journey is beginning?
Frances: I mean that you get on one if you don't know what boarding means.
Dufus: Why do you need to get on the number one if you're supposed to get on a vessel or an aircraft?
Frances: I meant you get on a vessel or an aircraft.
Dufus: Why do you need to get on a vessel or an aircraft?
Frances: AARRGH!
(Music playing somewhere)
(Frances snapping and singing)
Frances: Hey, I know this song! It's "Girl, put your records on, Tell me your favorite song" (Frances singing it while telling Dufus the title of the song.)
Dufus: How come you know this song? (Voice trails off as he reaches the end of sentence.)
(Dufus and Frances start dancing.)
(Especially Dufus)
(Now, YOU ask Dufus a question!)
(Like, why are you dancing?)

                                                            THE END

Scientific Question

Q: Why do you call a cold a cold if your body feels hot?
A: (Answer through comments.)

Emanate

Do you know what emanate means? It means something that has originated from a specific place. For example, what company has Tom and Jerry, The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-doo and etc. emanated from? The Hanna-Barbera company. As I told you that we will be focusing on cartoons for a while. So, anyway, what mechanical structure DID they use for these animation items? Computers. That's the reason you don't see much VERY old cartoons because in those days they didn't have well, working computers for Animation. That's wy those old ones are not black and white like Popeye. Maybe, there are black and white cartoons. But, I guess very few. Anyway, bye!

Elusive

Ok, now as usual my favorite characters. Tom and Jerry. Tom is always trying to catch Jerry. But is Jerry elusive or not? Pause. What does elusive mean? Elusive means tending to escape capture. It's true that Jerry is elusive though. Right? On the far left is a picture of Jerry eluding a capture prepared by Tom. On the far right is a picture of Jerry taunting Tom. Even though, Tom cannot be seen. Now, I have a question. What's YOUR favorite "cartoon" character. Not just any character but a CARTOON character. Ok, bye! See ya!
