Chapter 4: Almost there
So, as they leave the library and head for the woods, something else is happening in the orphanage. The orphanage lady is in distress as the adopting mom comes and starts a dispute. "How dare you let them run away!" "I...I..-"Speak up you impudent thing!" "I was inspecting their rooms yesterday and they were just playing with the toys!" "Oh my, oh my! Are there any other girls I could adopt?" "Yes,yes go see for yourself." As the mom left, the orphanage lady mumbled to herself, "Now where could those children have gone?" Where they were was the southern part of San Francisco. As they approached the end of San Francisco they noticed a board that said, "Welcome to San Jose." Elizabeth knew about a few cities below San Francisco. She knew San Jose wasn't this close and thought it was just a trick. Then she notice that they indeed were in San Jose's freeway but not the actual San Jose. They walked on the freeway following the cars. They finally reached San Jose around 8:00p.m. and decided to set up camp in some nearby trees. After many nights, they reached a small city near Los Angeles called Lancaster. They still had one whole day until they would at least reach the beginning of Los Angeles. They had some money in their hands, they payed for tickets and got onto BART for Los Angeles. Since their clothes looked all tattered, people thought they were beggars and gave money to them. Let's find out what happens next, tomorrow... will they reach Los Angeles safely or will they have to be careful about dangers.
