My Journal

I'm trying to make more friends than just the group I hang out with. The reason being, we won't  really be together for long. There are two parts that the group splits into. One of them, is a group that hates one of our group members. They always separate into a corner of the playground and talk about it. The other group is made up of the hated  members plus some others that do not which group to be in. Like me. It's really hard for me to be the type that gossips bad stuff about someone else. Seriously, that is not why I even became friends with these people. And as sad as it is, I might not even be their friends next year. I may have to break away and find someone else if they keep this up. But for now, I will try my best to put up with them.....

My Journal

So, some last few details about my next year school. There will be a meeting held at the middle school gym. I want to show my mom how to get to the school. But, I'm not sure I would get to show them inside the school to where the gym is until Tuesday. That's probably the end of my little tour of the middle school.

THANK YOU!

My Journal

We would get to select an elective course.

  1. Communications/Speech
  2. Drama 1
  3. French 1
  4. Spanish 1
Above are listed the elective courses in priority order. We were supposed to choose six choices. But, I could not decide on anything else. My hopes are to get into Communications/Speech or Drama 1. Next were the Honors.
If you are qualified for all three honors you get to choose whatever you want. All the people in this school other than me took either a STAR test or a SAT test in fifth grade. So, for them, honors would be determined from their 5th grade tests. For me, I took neither in 5th grade. So, it all depends on my 6th grade STAR scores.

My Journal

The middle school said that it would be really hard trying to balance al three subjects in honors. But if you want to take a challenge, you can try it out. I am for sure qualified for Math honors. But, now English and Science need my SAT scores also. Other than my 6th grade grades. Now, let's get to the tour. As we exited the MUR, I was excited. First, we  went to the classroom of one of my favorite teachers. He is an algebra teacher. Then we got to go into the Girls' Locker room. The boys also went into the Girls' Locker room. After that, our tour guide just pointed out places and what we would be doing there. Instead of using the MUR,  The last place we visited was the office. Some lucky group, got candy from there. I'm jealous of them. Once we walked back to school, every 6th grader was discussing the trip. We could not wait to get our registration form. The End.

My Journal

Yesterday, I told you that we were going to visit my middle school. I'll tell you what we learned and describe how the school looks. Interesting thing that I learned was we start official school at 8:15. We have to be on campus between 7:50 and 8:10. School ends at 2:20! WE have lunch break for 35 minutes, and during lunch time, there are sometimes activities held. On a regular basis at lunch time after you finish your lunch, you can go to a club. For example, Book Club, Art Club, Math Club etc. are some choices. Besides this, we get lockers in which to put our books. Our classes will each be 50 minutes with 6 different subjects and 5 minutes to grab our books and go to the next class. The first 5 subjects you definitely know from elementary are, math, english, science, history, and P.E. The 6th subject is known as an elective where you get to choose an extra-other-than-main-subjects thing to do. I probably will be going into Communication/Speech or Drama. Another thing we have is of course library. HONORS! HONORS! HONORS! Probably the dream of every parent. Subjects you could get into honors for are math, english, and science. How to get into honors for each subject (this requires you to get good grades in your last year of elementary):
MATH: Good 5th grade STAR score and an average in the A or B range
ENGLISH: (same thing)
SCIENCE: If you have whatever is required in math and english, I guarantee you will get into science honors.
Another thing is, your parents have to decide whether or not they want you to go to all the honors' classes. (To be continued tomorrow...)

My Journal

Today we are going on a visit to my next year school. WHOOT! WHOOT! Middle School!!!!!!!!!!!!! We get to go on a tour around it. Everybody is talking about it! But the topic most everybody was talking about (including me) is the weather. The weather forecast is seeming ok today. Luckily, it says 0% precipitation today. I just can't wait. I guess that's why I have terrible grammar in this post. Anyway, toodle-oo!!!!!!!!!

My Journal

I converted the manga girl into a version of me. On Feb. 15th, my little brother's classroom had a 100th day celebration. Each child could bring a sibling that goes to the same school, to their class. I went to his class for the celebration and what happened was first, the kindergarteners counted up to 100. At every multiple of ten, a balloon would pop. Then we went to the desks of our siblings. THere, we had to make a graph of different colored gummy bears. After we made the graph, we ate the gummy bears and it was time to leave. We said bye to our siblings and I went to the playground just in time to see one of my friends and line up with her.

My Journal

At school, we are starting new chapters in Math, Science, and Social Studies. In science, we are learning about sources of energy like fuel. Math is mainly focused on Geometry now and in Social Studies, we are learning about Egypt. As you all may know, there is a protest going on in Cairo because they do not like their government. I am not sure if it is still going on though.  Yesterday, school was closed so I settled down to draw a Manga girl. It came out really good and I am deciding to post it on my blog. Ok, bye!

My Journal

Seeing them run, I got more enthusiastic and started kicking the ball very far from them. Just then, the bell rang and I ran after the ball before one of the other girls could get it. I, placed  the soccer ball on the rack with my friend. We went to line up. It was very fun. So soon, all our friends started playing soccer with us.

Yesterday, me and one of my class friends went to give candy grams to two teachers. I gave it to the teacher in Room 2 and my friend had to give the candy gram to our P.E. teacher. Once I was done with my assigned teacher, we walked together towards one of the sixth grade classrooms, Rm. 18. (I am in sixth grade.) We were told that we had to say "Special Candygram Delivery." So when my friend asked me what we were supposed to say I said, "Special Candygram Delivery." Instead though, when we got to our P.E. teacher, she said, "Special Telegram Delivery." I laughed tons. The whole time Rm. 18 was watching us and it felt embarrassing. Luckily, we had friends in Rm. 18 and not totally foes...

My Journal

I think I want to be a biotechnician when I grow up. That is the field I think I want to study in. Also, for my school's end of the year talent show thing, I'm going to be singing "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera. Weird things are happening with our group. The one that was our kind of leader got angry at two of my friends and so now she's trying to act all nice to them and act like nothing happened. Out of the whole group, 3 of us would play a game where we had to kick the ball away from each other. In one of the games, me and girl 1 were kicking the ball. Girl 2 was too tired to kick it away so she just followed us. At one point, I tripped over the ball but didn't fall hard because I was able to support myself. Instead, me and Girl 1 collapsed on the grass and started laughing really hard. Now, all of us form a weird shape and spread out really far. We hog 2 of the soccer balls (no one really plays soccer) and kick them to each other. Later, for some reason, my brain told me to start kicking the soccer ball away from them. At first, they did not realize I did that so they just went on. Then Girl 1 and Girl 2 started chasing me...

Ping-pong

Last, last, last week, I was on the last or the 5th table. Then the following weeks I went straight up to the 3rd table. I won everybody on the 3rd table, so this week I will go to the 2nd table. The 1st table consists of some coaches and very good players children and adults. My aim is to try my best to either stay on the 2nd table or win everybody on the 2nd table and be moved up to the 1st table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There it was shining in the distance. My future. Bzzzz. I felt a vibration. I looked  down in my dream and it was a bee. But in real life, it was my cellphone alarm waking me up at 5:30. I felt too lazy so I slept until my dad woke me up at 6:30. OMG! It is 6:30. I am going to be late to school! You may think it's weird that it takes me 1 hour and 40 minutes to brush my teeth, take a shower, eat breakfast, and get ready for school. But that is not all I do. Like now, I am blogging. This is one of the things I do. I also practice singing. Usually because I wake up at 5:30, I sometimes do my homework (extra), work on projects, or since an organization called NSF is holding contests on some subjects like Math, Science, Vocabulary, and Spelling. I am going to go there so I will study in the morning for that sometimes. For the past two weeks, I have been really close to getting a late slip at school since I was late. Luckily, I came right on time or the line will be ready waiting for the teacher and I would just sneak in line. This week we had a substitute on Monday and Thursday. She is really nice. But on Thursday, since alot of people were loud, we got a bad report. When we got back from the bowling trip, our teacher discussed the matter with us. This never had happened to me before...

My Journal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I do not have much to talk about other than............ we are going on the bowling trip for letter reward! It is for 4th,5th, and 6th graders only. I do not know what group I will be bowling with, but I hope I have at least one of my friends with me. We will probably be there for about 2-3 hours. When we get back, I think we will be studying a little bit but they will be also taking pictures of Ballroom Helpers, Recyclers, and something else. I am in both of the first two categories. :-)

I am crazed in human biology but I do not know what category I want to go into. There are different systems that different type of doctors specialize in. I have no idea which one I want to be in. I'd rather take care of all the systems. I probably am going to be a pediatrician. Or I might go to some serious emergency rooms where I have to see what part of the body is injured or is malfunctioning or even sometimes broken. Ok let me spill the beans. I have told you this before, but I terribly want to achieve my goal of going to U.C. Berkley.

My Journal

Today we have a Science Test. I studied well for it and after I publish this post I am going to review it. Then at school, our teacher will not take our study guides back until before we take the test. So for two recesses, I can study. We also have a chapter test on probability today. I won't be doing that good on the Independent and Dependent Probability questions. I could already see that. Only if I am given it as arithmetic, I get them right. Yesterday, I was so proud of myself  for scoring two points for my team in volleyball. Our P.E. teacher let us play volleyball inside of the M.U.R. (multi-use room). She set up poles and then hung up the nets. I then realized that I could play better only when we were inside a building. I did not know why. Anyway, one last thing we are going to the Computer Lab to do our "Taking a Stand" project. I'm doing mine on Carbon Food Print. Then we have to do this research project on an endangered species. It is more than an essay. We have to do 3-5 full pages. At least only Science things are due.

My Journal

Today we have a Social Studies test. My teacher, to prepare for a social studies test, gives us usually a piece of paper in which we take tiny notes of each section. The sections are know as GRAPES:
G: geography
R: religion/beliefs
A: achievements
P: politics
E: expressions
S: society
This time we have a Social Studies test on Mesopotamia and the Fertile Crescent. The other three chapters we did before this one will be listed in order as follows: Cavemen (practically the first peoples) , India, China.
Then we had this other worksheet that asked us a few questions about the geography of Mesopotamia. Then we had to label and color the map of Mesopotamia and its surrounding neighbors like Asia Minor and Africa.

My Journal

Since we have a Letter Reward Trip on Friday, all 6th grade teachers decided to give us alot of tests. Today we have a quiz on Clauses, Helping Verbs, Linking Verbs (not very tough to do). Then on Wednesday we have a test on Mesopotamia. The next day, we will have a Science Test and then Friday rolls around by that time and we go on our field trip. Our trip is to go bowling. If you are wondering what Letter Reward is, I will tell you. Every Friday, we get a slip of blue paper that signifies we do not have to go to Study Hall. If you get a white sheet of paer which is 2 write-ups then you go to Study Hall and you have to miss the fun activities planned for Letter Reward. So far, I haven't done that yet and I am proud of it.  Things you could get write-ups for:
  • being late to school with no evidence of doing something important (late slip)
  • not turning homework in on the due date.
  • turning in incomplete work
  • not behaving good at school after warnings are given blah blah blah
Ok, bye!
