Nicotine is a yellow, oily, liquid with a bitter taste. If you expose it to the air, it will turn brown. Higher doses of this compound are in tobacco leaves. Lower doses of this compound are in tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, and green peppers. Nicotine is named after the tobacco plant : Nicotiana Tabacum.
