Etymologist

Have you seen online dictionaries or some book dictionaries? Have you seen the word etymology under the main entry which is the word you're looking up? For example= Go to this link: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/centrifugal. There above the meanings look for the word etymology (you can use the search box too.) What does it say if it says something like this after the colon: New Latin centrifugus, from centr- + Latin fugere to flee — more at fugitive
Then, you're on the right track if not, you're on the wrong track. Anyway, if you couldn't find it, it's okay. So, in the etymology that I'm showing you here, what do you think an etymologist studies and what does etymology mean? This is your activity. Do this any time I don't mind .
