Deter

frightened cartoons, frightened cartoon, frightened picture, frightened pictures, frightened image, frightened images, frightened illustration, frightened illustrations Deter means to be... frightened or discouraged. No one was deterred enough to be tricked into weird threats of course. If I said, a squid that talks is going to call the police, of course you wouldn't believe that unless you were a little kid. One weird thing is that deter is pronounced like how you would pronounce detour and I thought it was pronounced how it was spelled. Anyway, bye!

Destine or Destined

Have you ever heard of the word destination? Do you see the destin in destination? That's what the beginning is and then they just add an e. So, surely destine should have something to do with destination. I am destined to go to the airport on Christmas. The air plane is destined to go to Florida on Christmas. I just can't wait to go there. Ever since we've booked everything,I've been counting down. If I countdown from today it would be 7 more days. I'd love to go to Florida because:
1. I've never been there.
2. I'm also going to be there on my birthday and...
3. I'm doing a state report on Florida.

Designate

It means to assign a specific area to someone or something. In the morning, I have one designated spot to blog my posts. But, for sometime, the internet wasn't working on the computer. So, I had another designated spot to do my work. I'm happy now that it's working. Also, in school, we have our own designated spots until the school year ends. Many people may be happy that school is over. But to me, it's not really fun in the summer.
Unless, we go somewhere in the summer. Ok, bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deplete

Guess what deplete means? It means bankrupt. For the people who don't know what bankrupt means, it means you have no money. Deplete. In my book, the lady that the girl Annika worships is not her real mom. So, when Annika goes and stays with the mothers that found her, the lady goes deplete. I just told you the end of the story, of what some days ago, I had told you where Annika worships her mom.

Depict

Depict means to describe a theme. Today, only my class, is doing a colony report. We get extra credit if we dress like the colonial people, or cooked food or made drinks that they used to drink or anything else. So, we are kind of depicting the Colonial Times and Colonial Everyday Life. On the South west from here is a picture of a colonial man and woman. This is how they dressed and what they wore. Ok, bye!

Density

Now, there are two meanings for density.
1. compact, crowded condition
2. (a kind of bad word) stupid or stupidity and synonyms
You'd probably use the first one more. (Well, at least I would.)
To me, the 1st one is the actual definition. For example:
1.  I used to think the density was a big deal, along with cost, but maybe that's changing.
Now, don't blame me if you don't understand this sentence. DEnsity probably has thousands of meanings. These are just a couple. Ok, bye! Good for you, if you understand  it.

Demonstrable

  • Demonstrate meaning: To display and explain or show and explain.
For example, in school, we have to do a Colony Report. My group has to do the Southern Colonies. We decided to do it on a display board. So, then, it would be easy to demonstrate. It would be demonstrable.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
See you next time!

Demise

Demise means extinction. Dinosaurs are demised now. Although, we may not really know if there used to be dinosaurs. But, it is probably true that mammoths existed. Also, we may not know what they were actually named as. Many things have demised and you'd wish they were alive. You also must have heard about "Dec. 12th 2012" being "THE WORST DAY EVER." If it really happens humans will be probably extinct. But, I don't think it would happen. Unless, you believe that the Mayan Calendar is saying the truth.

Delineate

Guess what delineate means? It means to outline with a pencil or markers. Something that you outline pictures with. For example, the picture on the left is outlined. It's outlined with a black pen, sharpie, or marker. If you don't outline your pictures, usually, you won't really know where you drew the hand and it might be hard to see. That usually happens if you draw lightly. If you trace it then it would be more easier to see. That's all about delineate. See you next time! Bye!

Delegate

This word is business-like or chool-like and also government-like. I chose business-like or school-like, because I didn't know how to write about the government-like one. So, delgate (verb) means to assign responsibility. For instance if you go to office, or your parents do. Ok? When their manager gives them work, they assign a responsibility to your parents for doing what work they need to do. In school, we are responsible for our homework, and when we return it to our teacher. That's delegating! Ok, bye!

Dejection

There are two meanings for dejection, but, I'm only going to say ONE of them. Just because the other is not appropriate enough to put in my blog.

1st definition: lowness of spirits
As you know lowness of spirits can mean, not really good sportsmanship. I say that because if your spirits are low, then of course you're not going to be happy any time. Especially, when you are playing a game.
So, you should not always be dejected. Dejection keeps the happy spirits away.
Many people in my class used to cry whenever their team lost. But, what's the big deal? It's just a game!

Deify

Today, the word is deify. Do you have any idea as to what it means? I didn't, until I looked it up in the dictionary. It means to worship like a god or goddess. In the book: STAR OF KAZAN, Author:Eva Ibbotson Illustrator: Kevin Hawkes, Zed explains to the people of  Vienna that took care of  a girl named Annika before her mother took her away, that Annika worshipped her mother. So, that means Annika deified her mother. She worshipped her mother.

Above, to the left is The Star of Kazan, the book.
Ok, bye!
